About Derrick Beetso, Principal/Manager (pictured far right above)
Derrick is the founder and Principal/Manager at Hayííłką́ LLC, an Indigenous-owned policy and business consulting entity dedicated to furthering social change. Derrick also serves as Executive Director of the Indian Gaming and Tribal Self-Governance programs & Professor of Practice at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, Arizona State University, and is a citizen of the Navajo Nation. Prior to founding Hayííłką́ LLC, Beetso served as the general counsel for the National Congress of American Indians and was counselor to Assistant Secretary-Indian Affairs Kevin Washburn during the Obama administration. Derrick is licensed to practice law in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and the Navajo Nation, and is a proud member of the American Law Institute.
Services
Assisting with federal rule making projects by compiling and synthesizing public comments, both oral and written, helping synthesize and organize public comments on Indian gaming projects, providing public education on various issues related to Indigenous peoples and other social justice matters, assisting with research and writing projects related to land and water issues impacting Native communities, and other related services.
